John Wayne’s Daughter Aissa Wayne
Those attending the VIP Fund Raising Dinner Event will be joined by Aissa Wayne. His eldest daughter from his marriage to Pilar Wayne, as a child Aissa joined her dad on the set and had roles in several of his films. In 1991, she published John Wayne, My Father, a poignant memoir and fascinating insight into the real life of John Wayne.
She is now a successful attorney in the Los Angeles area.
Aissa appeared with her father in The Alamo, The Comancheros, Donovan’s Reef and McLintock!

The statue will be placed in a very special outdoor location facing John Wayne Drive on the property for the new John Wayne Museum and Learning Center adjacent to the Birthplace home and Welcome Center. Come join us for this free event.
Those with tickets to the VIP Event on Saturday are invited to a special gathering at the Birthplace immediately following the dedication.

Wayne was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his performance as Marine Corps sergeant John M. Stryker who must turn a bunch of new recruits into seasoned warriors for an attack on the Japanese-held island.

This 1961 film stars Wayne as Ranger Capt. Jake Cutter, going undercover with a reluctant Stuart Whitman to crush a gang of gun runners. Whitman also teaches Wayne’s daughter Aissa (here for the Birthday Celebration) to sing in French in this film.
